Two professional actors will host the event, provide plenty of humour, and lead your guests in an interactive murder mystery event.
You and your guests will each have a character to play, and the murder mystery unfolds in real-time, with clues, evidence and even 'murders' occurring right before your eyes! Everyone is a suspect and everyone will have the chance to solve the crime and claim the prize at the end.
The Experience
Professional Performers
Our experienced actors are with you throughout and will ensure everyone has a good time. The Murder Mystery runs for 2hours, usually over dinner (the plot unfolds around the dining table) but this doesn't have to be a three-course meal, it's just as much fun over a buffet or even a takeaway.
At the end of the event, there is a classic Agatha Christie-style denouément, during which the suspects are discounted one-by-one, before the killer is revealed. Everyone has the opportunity to solve the crime at the end of the night and we include a prize for the best answer.
Live-action Murder Mystery
There's no script to learn or serious acting involved, as you are given all the information you need on the night. You can choose from one of our fun plots / themes, including stories set in the 1920s, 1950s and 1960s.
You will be given details of the story's setting when you make your booking with Perfect Murder, along with a list of characters that you can, should you wish, issue to your guests in advance so they will which character they are playing. On the night, the two actors will issue each guest with a full-colour 'Character Card', which contains all the information required for the evening. There is no script to learn in advance and it's all very light-hearted; no-one will be under pressure to provide an Oscar-winning performance (although they are, of course, encouraged!).
The Hen Party Murder Mystery is designed to run over dinner (or lunch, our events are suitable for any time of day). We always advise that you run the murder mystery over a meal, around the table, as this is most conducive to a relaxed and fun event.
Example Event
Your actor hosts join you and your guests for pre-dinner drinks. The story and characters are introduced and guests are issued with their full-colour Character Profile pack.
Once the Introduction is complete, guests will be seated ready for dinner to be served. The Murder Mystery now runs in real time so there is no need for special gaps, delays or pauses between the courses of the meal. Food and drinks can be served in the usual way without fear of disrupting the entertainment. Guests, who all play suspects in the mystery, will get to share their information, ask questions and even do a little acting if they wish! Expect lots of laughs as the mystery unfolds around the dining table.
Thinking caps on!
Guests are issued with full-colour Conclusion Sheets and asked to enter their solution to the mystery. The game can be played in pairs, small teams or even individually. There is a prize at stake for whoever correctly solves the crime, so it's time to check your notes and ask any final questions.
The Denouément
Classic Agatha Christie-inspired moment as the remaining suspects are lined up and the story explained, leading to the big reveal. Whodunnit? One of your guests has been hiding a big secret.
The Murderer is Exposed!
There's a traitor in your party and finally their motive for the crime is revealed. The Winner will be selected and prizes awarded.
Murder Mystery Concludes
The actors bid you good night and leave you to enjoy the rest of your evening safe in the knowledge there is a killer off the streets! We usually take a group photograph that will be emailed to you as a memento of your Murder Mystery evening.
